Mentoring People and Guiding ProcessesNo one reaches goals without motivation and direction |
|
To mentor means to be an advisor. To advise means to provide clear direction. In the business world, as employees are placed into the role of manager, supervisor, or boss, it is often with the understanding that alongside the responsibilities comes confidence and a suitable comfort level for carrying out each task. While many people do excel in their management roles, we also find that most people in roles of authority over others report a desire to cultivate skills that will lessen the awkwardness that comes with the job when having to evaluate, discipline and motivate employees. We have searched for a model and developed a program that responds to these requests. We have found that introducing people to the mentoring model facilitates their confidence as a leader and allows for a new dynamic between employees and their boss that is productive for both. The process of mentoring is not about coddling or psychobabble, it is about a particular style of cultivating people in order to increase their motivation, productivity, loyalty and sense of responsibility. Being an effective mentor takes stress off of both the mentor and the mentee; the dynamic is one of mutual objectives and having a clear path towards achievement. This keynote is so popular, it is also now a seminar. People everywhere love the concept and the implementation of it, regardless of the industry they find themselves working within. We produce results for our clients....we see enhanced relationships and performance as a result of what we do........
If you are finding cubicles foiled or keyboards sprouting, and the work is not getting done and done well, it's evidence of workers who are in need of mentoring..........serious need.
